PRIVATE HOME - EXTENSION
Somerset
This converted barn is a complex of early 1800's agricultural buildings that were converted into a house in 2006. The original barn conversion living spaces did not fully maximise the link to the garden.
Corbel Architects have updated an existing planning consent and gained permission to improve the extension design so that the living space opens up to the garden further and the details sympathetically marry to the existing barn allowing several historic features to be retained.
The design was developed through close discussion with the client and use of a working model and drawings helped to clearly illustrate the proposal.
This high quality extension and integrated landscaping has created a multi-functional space that opens up the house and connection to the garden.
